Texas Cattle Ranchers have lost thousands of cattle in the recent wildfires that have devastated the Panhandle area. Lost livestock was only the half of it, fellow Cattle Rancher of When Pigs Fly Farm Thomas Enoff explains. The farmers and ranchers also lost buildings and infrastructure as the wildfires raged on. As of Spring 2024, the wildfires were continuing in the Panhandle area. As far as Enoff can tell, there will be insurmountable loss experienced as this issue continues to persist. Ranchers and Farmers are already springing into action seeking to rebuild. This week, more than 100 people attended a council meeting at Hemphill County Exhibition Center, seeking government assistance and aid in dealing with the financial and physical loss experienced due to the fires. According to preliminary experts from Independent Insurance Adjusters like Enoff and his team at Schooley, Stempel & Enoff, hundreds of thousands of acres have been burned and deemed unusable, along with thousands of cattle lost. In the months that have followed since the natural disaster, the loss has been truly devastating. Farmers are still seeking support from Texas.
